These positions have been integral to our growth and success over the past few years, so the positions will be well supported by both boosters and school administration.  The low brass position has typically consisted of lessons during the school day at $40/hr for 3 hours a week. The percussion position has been $50/week for one after school sectional. These are negotiable, depending on experience and the instructor's availability. ...... seeks a dynamic individual to serve as Director of Bands to recruit, retain, and lead a pep band, marching band, color guard and concert band. As part of the Enrollment Services component, the Director is an integral member of Lyon College’s enrollment growth plan. The Director must identify possible band and color guard members, schedule auditions, and dispense scholarships to worthy members to achieve the assigned objectives. The Director will be required to host recruiting camps during the year and organize band competitions for high schools on Lyon’s campus. Additionally, the Director may teach a course in band music or teach private lessons for credit. The Director of Bands reports to the Director of Affinity Mentoring and will meet regularly with that individual to achieve enrollment and retention objectives. Applicants should have strong backgrounds in recruiting and implementing new initiatives within a music/band setting for at least five years. Additionally, working nights and weekends may be required to achieve goals set forth by the supervisor. A bachelor’s degree and valid driver’s license are required with a master’s degree preferred.

Life Way Christian School Band/Orchestra

Life Way Christian School, a ministry of First Baptist Church,  Centerton, is seeking candidates to fill a 6th-12th grade band/orchestra position.  We currently have approximately 50 students participating in the program.  Candidates must have a minimum 4-year degree, and a state teaching certification is preferred but not required.  We do not focus on marching band; however, our students will perform in regular concerts, basketball pep band, and city parades.  Life Way will be joining the AAA in 2020-21, and participation in ASBOA sanctioned events in the future is desired.  While not required to attend FBC Centerton, Life Way faculty is expected to adhere to the doctrinal statement of FBC Centerton found in The Baptist Faith and Message 2000 ed. while attending a like-minded church.  Any interested candidate may submit a resume to Justin Moseley, the Secondary Principal, by email at jmoseley@lwcsar.com.
