Preferred qualifications include at least three years of teaching experience. Visit for institutional information and an application. Send a letter of interest, teaching philosophy statement, vita, contact information for three references, completed application, and an unofficial transcript via email to Review of applications will commence on March 1, 2018, and continue until the position has been filled. Lakeside Orchestra Position

This is an outstanding position.  The administration is very supportive of the program, and the faculty is eager to collaborate on projects and concerts.  I have worked closely with the choir directors, band directors, and with classroom teachers on wonderful opportunities for the students and I know they will be warmly welcoming whomever the new orchestra director will be.   The curricular orchestra program at Lakeside is entering its fourth year and has experienced exponential growth and support from the community, both on and off the Lakeside campus.  The students are talented and driven, and the position offers an high degree of pedagogical freedom for the director in choosing methodology and programming concert repertoire.     This is an elementary and secondary position.  Traditionally, I have taught one section each (meeting M-F) of High School Orchestra, 6th Grade Orchestra, and 7th Grade Orchestra; 4 sections of 5th grade beginning orchestra (meeting once a week, 40 min classes); and 10 sections of 4th grade introduction to orchestra (each meeting once a week, 30-40 min classes).  This totals a 6 period day, plus a daily planning period and lunch period.  All buildings are on the same campus, so traveling between buildings is very easy, and the administration is very good about scheduling class times for traveling faculty members.  I have often combined the 6th and 7th grade orchestras for first semester concerts, and 7th grade and High School for some pieces on second semester concerts.  I have also traditionally offered an after school Chamber Ensemble for advanced students who take private lessons.  All additional hours worked (after school rehearsals, festival auditions and clinics, etc.) have been traditionally paid according to hourly tutoring pay.   Additionally, Lakeside School District prides itself on being the highest-paying district within driving distance!   For more information, and to apply, visit the district website for job openings:, click "Become a Ram," then "Job Openings," Certified Positions, Teacher -or-

We have an immediate opening for a choral director and a band director.  The application info can be found at If there are any questions, please call Dr. Hearnsberger at 501-447-2100.
